Happy New Year 2013

January 31st 2013

Greetings to everyone as we begin another year of ministry in the Central Philippines! We have made our planning calendar for 2013, and have so much we want to accomplish before our furlough time. We are grateful for a new year with many new opportunities for the Lord’s ministry. Thank you for helping us be here in the Philippines another year!

This is the training/classroom at our VFM office/house. We are so thankful VFM has such a nice place to use!

We have hosted two seminars on Church Planting with another one scheduled on the Island of Cebu next week. Please be in prayer for this coming meeting and for the workers attending. We are hoping that we will have at least 20 pastors for the next 3 day training titled “Church Planting Essentials.” In the last couple of years, there has been some division among the churches in the Central Philippines. Oh how much better it would be to focus on evangelism and church planting than on differences of opinion. God’s opinion is known, that all would come to know the Lord and be saved. That must be our focus, reaching the lost! Planting churches.

Cultural News! We often travel many miles across the mountains, by boats over the ocean and on very difficult roads.  Many of the places we visit,  it is recommended to travel only during the daytime. We are very mindful that there are still areas where there continues to be political unrest; and we are again in an election period here in the Philippines.  Just this past week, there was an ambush very late at night and 9 people were killed and 12 injured.  We have a church on each side of this area.  It was not on the main roads that we normally travel, but sometimes we go into such areas where the roads are very muddy, rocky and/or little traveled.  We try to be cautious and careful but we seek your prayers for us.  We are so thankful that you do keep us in your prayers.  Our vehicle is 10 years old and has been very faithful for years and has many miles/kilometers.  We are hoping that our next vehicle can be 4 wheel drive, so I will not get stuck so often.  Also begin praying for us to have a vehicle to use our during furlough.

We are excited about the ministry opportunities that we have during the next seven months before coming home. There isn’t any place we would rather be then here.  Thank you for your prayers for us and letting us serve the Lord here!

In His service,

Paul and Mary Wilson
